The announcement was made on "Early Start with Rahel Solomon," an early-morning news program on CNN. Born in Sudan, Solomon moved to the U.S. at age 3 and raised in West Philadelphia, she worked for several years as a morning anchor for KYW-TV in Philadelphia before becoming a CNBC reporter. She joined CNN in 2022 and will host the show this week, with Friday being her last show.
