The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors is set to discuss a five-year "retail transactions and use" tax. The proposed 0.625% tax would apply to sales of tangible personal property in both incorporated cities and unincorporated areas. The tax would be administered by the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration under existing state sales tax procedures. If approved, the tax would sunset within five years.
