The candidates vying for the Illinois 5th Congressional District are competing in the upcoming Illinois Primary Election. Early voting has already begun in Cook and Lake counties. In the Republican primary, Tom Hanson, Dr. Kimball Ladien and Barry Wicker will compete. On the Democratic side, incumbent U.S. Congressman Mike Quigley is facing challengers including Matt Conroy, Ellen A. Corley, and Anthony Michael Tamez. The candidate's focus will now focus on health care, education, and immigration reform.
