2 teens charged with murder in Klein Collins High School student's death in 2025, authorities say

Two teens have been charged with the murder of 18-year-old Michael Spivey, a student at Klein Collins High School in Houston, Texas, in 2025. The charges were filed against one of the suspects, a 16-year old boy, and another 16-years-old boy. Spivery was shot in the back of the head and robbed at the family home on Edsall Drive in Spring on Dec. 26. While the teens are currently charged with murder as juveniles, their mother, Vanessa Garcia, is urging prosecutors to certify them as adults and upgrade their charges to capital murder.
