LinkedIn scanning users' browser extensions sparks controversy and two lawsuits

Two class action complaints have been filed against LinkedIn over its practice of scanning users' browsers to identify extensions that violate its terms. The complaints are largely influenced by a recent "BrowserGate" report by German entity Fairlinked, which appears to be run by the same group behind Teamfluence. The company does not deny it scans browsers for extensions and uses cookies and other technologies to collect information about each user's web browser and add-ons. However, there is a dispute over whether LinkedIn adequately discloses this information.
