Manchester band WU LYF, known for its cultish roots, split in 2012 when frontman Ellery Roberts posted a previously unreleased track online and a letter stating "WU LyF is dead to me." He went on to form Lost Under Heaven with his then-partner Ebony Hoorn. The band's debut album, Go Tell Fire to the Mountain, was released in 2011 and has remained a standout record since its release. The reunion was announced shortly after the split, but the band has since reunited and released the comeback single "A New Life" in 2025. They also released A Wave That Will Never Break, their first album in 15 years, directly through an online membership model rather than streaming services.
