A witness to a rare sighting of a bald eagle in a backyard in Newtown Borough, Pennsylvania, has been reported. The sighting occurred while Jones and his son were playing catch outside and heard a crow flying and making noises towards the eagle. The eagle remained in a tree for about 25 to 30 minutes before flying off and eventually leaving. The witness described the bird's size and its apparent interest in food. The recovery of the bald eagle is a significant conservation story for both Pennsylvania and the nation, with the Pennsylvania Game Commission stating that the chances of seeing a bald Eagle in the wild now are greater than they have been in the past 100 years.
