The Omaha City Council has unanimously approved the construction of a five-story, 34-unit apartment building just east of 78th and Pacific Streets in central Omaha. The building will include amenity space in the back and a 34-car garage. The existing house on the property is expected to be demolished soon to make way for the development. Seven neighbors spoke against the project during public hearings, with concerns about the scale of the development and the potential for traffic disruption. Developer Ryan Spellman hopes to break ground on the project this fall.
