Three rehabilitated sea lion pups were released to the ocean in Redondo Beach, California, following their health recovery. The event was held to celebrate the important role of California sea lions in the state's coastal ecosystem. Among attendees was Sen. Laura Richardson, who announced proposed legislation to establish the California sea lion as the official state pinniped.
