University of Hawaii women's basketball coach Laura Beeman has announced her retirement, ending her 14-season coaching career. Beeman, the eighth head coach in program history, will remain with the university during the transition period to help guide the program until a new head coach is named. She finished her career with a 244-180 overall record, second in UH history, and a 160-79 (.669) record in conference play. Under Beeman's leadership, the Rainbow Wahine made three NCAA Tournament appearances and earned nine postseason berths overall. She was named Big West Coach of the Year four times and coached over two dozen All-Big West selections.
