Miami City Commissioners are set to vote on the future of the Ultra Music Festival and the city's $450M budget for public safety building repairs. The issue has been contentious due to noise and congestion caused by the festival, but supporters argue the economic impact it has on the city. The Downtown Neighbors Alliance has urged the city to delay approval of a 20-year operating agreement with Ultra until more meaningful engagement with downtown residents takes place. If approved, the $450 million bond would help the city build a new public safety facility, which could house Miami Police Headquarters, an Emergency Operations Center, and an on-site fire station.
