A technical team from the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has arrived in Cuba to investigate a deadly shootout between local border patrol officers and a Florida-tagged speedboat. The incident occurred on February 25, when 10 Cuban nationals tried to enter Cuba from a speedboat with nearly 13,000 rounds of ammunition, 13 rifles and 11 pistols. Five of the attackers were killed and the others were taken into custody. The US government has denied involvement in the incident, stating it will independently verify the facts and make decisions based on US interest, US law, and the protection of US citizens. This comes amid ongoing tensions between the two nations following US President Donald Trump's imposition of a virtual oil blockade on the island.
