Eduardo Valenzuela Lopez, 33, of Sonora, Mexico, has been indicted for attempted murder following a shootout with DEA agents in Phoenix. His co-defendant, Jael Gonzalez Banuelos, 22, was also indicted on drug-related charges. The pair had reportedly agreed to sell roughly 50,000 fentanyl pills between Jan. 30 and Feb. 24. When agents approached their Dodge Ram truck, Valenzuala Lopez opened fire on them, but no one was injured. Both men were arrested and agents found a gun near the car and seized 50,00 pills from the glove box. The maximum sentence for possession of a firearm by an alien unlawfully present in the US is 15 years in prison.
