Sales of electric vehicles in the U.S. are decreasing due to the end of the $7,500 federal tax credit, which has reduced the size of the EV market and led to fewer sales. Uncertainty over tariffs affecting imported vehicles also increases their costs. The Volvo EX30, which initially debuted in 2025, will be discontinued in 2026 due to high tariffs on China-made vehicles. Ford's Ford F-150 Lightning, a full-size, half-ton pickup truck, will also stop production as of December 2025. The long-running Tesla Model S and Tesla Model X will both end production in 2025. However, these cars will not be replaced by new models of Tesla vehicles. The Hyundai Ioniq 6N version will still be produced in the production of the former high-performance Ioniqu 6N.
