Over 150 first responders and advocacy leaders from across Nevada recently attended an all-day autism safety training. The event, hosted by the Autism Coalition of Nevada, aims to improve interactions between law enforcement and the autism community. This follows Gov. Joe Lombardo's signing of Senate Bill 380, paving the way for such initiatives. The training was led by retired officer Jimmy Donohoe from Florida, who emphasized the importance of patience and empathy for first responders. The coalition also played a significant role in the legislative process, securing passage of four autism-related bills during the 2025 Nevada legislative session.
