Paramount's 5 Pleads With UK Government To Cut Tax Break Threshold

Paramount-owned network 5 has asked the UK government to reduce its tax break threshold to £500,000. The request was made at the Creative Cities Convention in Liverpool. 5 produces many of its series overseas, where it can access tax breaks more competitive than home soil. The tax break pays around 25% for shows costing more than £1M per hour, and this is part of 5's plan to continue growing its drama slate. The UK government has so far declined to heed the industry's call.
