Lawyer Larry Bettag is being sued by the St. Charles District 303 teachers union for circulating a flyer containing "deliberate misinformation" before the April 2025 school board election. The St.Charles Education Association filed a complaint against Bettag with the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission (ARDC). The flyer falsely stated that four candidates had been endorsed by the union, but only one was. The lawsuit seeks more than $50,000 in total. It alleges that Bettag has suffered significant reputational harm and emotional distress due to the publicity surrounding the complaint. The union has not commented on the lawsuit.
