House conservatives revolt over stalled SAVE Act

A group of House conservatives is threatening to vote against any legislation in an effort to force the Senate to pass President Trump's signature voting overhaul bill, the SAVE America Act. The group voted against a measure to extend the Small Business Innovation Research program for five years, which was easily passed by the Senate. The protest has little impact on policy, with some arguing that the American public does not care about the small business bill compared to the act. As long as the blockade continues, House Speaker Mike Johnson will need to rely on Democratic support to pass any bills originating in the Senate, particularly in light of this threat.
