Donald Trump, President of the United States, has spoken about the incident that occurred at the White House Correspondents' Dinner, where he was evacuated after an armed man opened fire at the ballroom at the Washington Hilton in Washington, D.C. on Saturday, April 25. The suspect, identified as Cole Tomas Allen, was identified as a 31-year-old Californian man. Other prominent figures, including first lady Melania Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and press secretary Karoline Leavitt, were also evacuated. Following the incident, White House officials confirmed that Allen wrote a "manifesto" in relation to the incident and had anti-Trump and anti-Christian rhetoric on his social media accounts. This incident may be the third attempt on Trump's life after he was shot in the ear at a campaign rally in 2024 and a man was found hiding in the bushes with a gun at his Florida golf course in 2024.
