Ted Bundy has been linked to the 1974 killing of 17-year-old Utah teenager Laura Ann Aime, which went unsolved 53 years after her death. The Utah County Sheriff's Office announced on April 1 that breakthroughs in technology and intensive investigation led to the identification of Bundy. Aime was last seen leaving a Halloween party on Oct. 31, 1974, and her body was discovered less than a month after her disappearance by two college students on a Thanksgiving Day hike. The case went cold without definitive evidence until now, leading to renewed interest in the case. Between 1974 and 1978, Bundy raped and murdered dozens of young women and girls across the country, targeting women in California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Utah, Colorado and Florida. He was convicted of three murders and executed at the Florida State Prison in 1989.
