A new immersive theatrical show, 'North Star', will debut at the Irish Arts Center from June 3-21. The show is partly inspired by George Floyd and explores the experience of abolitionist Frederick Douglass' trip to Belfast in 1845. The performance combines live music, spoken word, and a chorus of voices across continents. The project was conceived after the murder of George Floyd. The Irish Arts Centre's performance also signals its expanding programming ambitions.
