The US Secret Service has shot an armed man who fired at agents near the Washington Monument and injured a juvenile bystander. The incident occurred shortly after Secret Service officers and agents patrolling the outer perimeter of the White House complex noticed a suspicious individual with a firearm. The suspect, believed to be a 45-year-old White man with past residency in Maryland and Texas, was shot in the torso and is currently in stable condition in a local hospital.
