Despite leading in most polls, Bass has trailed in fundraising compared to her rivals, with each raising over $530,000 from January to April 27. Her campaign is also dealing with backlash over her response to the Pacific Palisades fire, which destroyed hundreds of Southern California homes. Former reality TV star Spencer Pratt has also gained significant donations from Los Angeles Lakers' controlling owner Jeanie Buss. Both Bass and Pratt have criticized each other for their respective performances in the past.
