New garden education center celebrates grand opening in south Phoenix

The Heart and Soil People’s Garden in south Phoenix, Arizona, has celebrated its grand opening with a $1 million award from The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation. The garden serves as a hub for women and people of color to grow and share fresh produce and contribute to an eco-friendly community. The award also supports the organization's business accelerator programs for Spanish-speaking and Black entrepreneurs. The site now includes a classroom space and on-site restrooms. The organization is providing opportunities for families to learn about growing food or start a business.
