US FDA blocked Covid, shingles vaccine safety studies, NYT reports

The US Food and Drug Administration has blocked the publication of several studies supporting the safety of widely used vaccines, including those against Covid-19 and shingles, in recent months. The studies were funded by millions of dollars in public money and were conducted by agency scientists who reviewed millions of patient records. The findings showed that serious side effects were rare. The Department of Health and Human Services, which oversees the FDA, did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
