A federal judge has certified a class of investors alleging that American tech giant Nvidia concealed the extent of its gaming GPU revenues depend on sales tied to crypto mining. The lawsuit was filed by investors who first sued Nvidia in 2018, alleging the company concealed over $1 billion in GPU sales linked to the mining industry. The SEC fined Nvidia $5.5 million in 2022 for failing to disclose the impact of this revenue. Plaintiffs allege a significant share of this crypto-driven revenue flowed through Nvidia’s GeForce gaming GPUs, exposing the company to volatility tied to market cycles. The court found an internal email from an Nvidia vice president expressing the company's stock price impact, which led to a 28.5% fall in the stock.
