A teacher at Winter Park High School, Benjamin Fottler, was arrested on suspicion of fleeing the scene of a crash in 2025. The Casselberry Police Department responded to a hit-and-run in 2025, where a driver reported striking a pole and claimed he did not stop to check and see what he had hit. Fottlers was charged with failing to stop at the scene, failing to render aid, and failing to report the accident. He was transported to the John E. Polk Correctional Facility and is currently being held on a $20,000 bond.
