Researchers from the Southern University of Science and Technology in Shenzhen have developed a wearable robot that turns a human into a cyborg centaur. The prototype system attaches a two-legged robotic platform behind a human wearer, which can walk with them while carrying heavy loads. The system can also be used to assist with walking and can be applied as a gentle horizontal push. The researchers did not comment on whether the system would still function if dressed up in a horse costume.
