Boston Logan airport operations smooth as TSA agents work without pay amid funding freeze

The partial government shutdown has halted funding for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), which oversees the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), nearly a month into the month-long period. While some airports across the country have experienced delays due to increased TSA wait times, Boston Logan International Airport has remained operationally unaffected. The government shutdown began on February 14 and has resulted in significant delays at some airports. Despite claims by Boston Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley that the “GOP shutdown” caused disruptions at Logan, Massport has refuted these claims. The White House has criticised Democrats for causing issues at airports, accusing them of prioritizing public safety over public safety. The TSA has also implemented TSA PreCheck Touchless ID for participating airlines at Logan.
