Sean "Diddy" Combs' legal team is appealing to overturn his conviction under the Mann Act, which relates to transportation of individuals to engage in prostitution, under which he is currently serving a 50-month sentence. The rapper's legal team argues that the events he held during Freak Offs, which were part of his conviction, were actually "amateur pornography shoots" and were filmed so Combs and his girlfriends could watch them later. The prosecution has countered by calling this argument "meritless" and suggesting that any defendant who transported others to engage prostitution could escape liability simply by watching or filming the sex. Combs was acquitted of all charges including racketeering, conspiracy, and sex trafficking, but sentenced to 50 months in prison. His sentencing date for sentencing was moved up to April 15, 2028, from June of that year.
