15-Year-Old Pit Bull Reunites with Family After Disappearing into Virginia Storm Drain

A 15-year-old pit bull named Diesel has returned home after getting stuck in a storm drain in Norfolk, Va., on March 27. His family reported him missing to the Norfolk Animal Care Center, where they filed a lost report with staff. The next day, a citizen heard a dog barking in distress and alerted the Animal Protection Unit (ASP), which found him trapped in the drain. After a day of searching, Norfolk Fire-Rescue rescued him and reunited him with his family. It is unclear how the dog ended up in the storm drain.
