The recent high winds in Toledo, Ohio have caused significant problems for wildlife, including baby squirrels who have been blown out of their nests. Nature's Nursery, a wildlife education and rehab center, takes in thousands of injured and orphaned wild animals every year. The wind has caused an influx of baby squirrel babies, which are typically only around 1-2 per week in March, causing an increase in payroll and the formula they use is very expensive. The goal is to return these babies to the wild and with their mother if possible. The facility also takes in over 3,200 animals last year and is on track to exceed this number this year.
