Nigeria's CEO, Jensen Huang, revealed the upcoming version of its AI-powered upscaling and optimization technology, DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling), at its GTC conference, which opened with a keynote revealing the latest tech. However, gamers were not particularly impressed with the technology's exaggerated features, calling it "AI slop" and "disruptive" visuals. Critics also expressed concerns that if DLSS 5 becomes the industry standard, video game graphics might start to look the same, losing their unique visual identity. In a Q&A on Tuesday, Huang addressed these concerns, stating that DLSS5 does not change the artistic control of the game developer and that it's in direct control of game developers' control. DLSS is set to be released in the fall.
