The Metropolitan Museum of Art's new Raphael show, Raphael: Sublime Poetry, is set to open at the Met's new exhibition, which includes 237 paintings, drawings, tapestries, historical objects, and even a fresco fragment from 60 public and private collections worldwide. The exhibition, the first major show devoted to Raphael in the United States, is on display from March 29 to June 28 and will not travel to any other museums. The research for the show, which took curator Carmen Bambach over eight years, included trips to Europe and London, Vienna, and Madrid. The show is a portrait of Raphael's artistic influences, relationships, and business acumen. The event comes at a time when Old Masters are gaining popularity, with collectors and interior designers expressing interest in their work.
