A hiker fell 40 to 50 feet into the Pine Creek Canyon in Las Vegas on Saturday, February 28, sustaining severe head and back injuries. The victim was located on the Dream Safari route on Dark Shadows Wall in Pine Creek. The rescue took seven hours and involved a rescue team including a helicopter unit operated by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) Search and Rescue team. The hiker was transported to the hospital, where their helmet was destroyed during the fall.
