Study: Only 3% Of Americans Use Prediction Markets; 52% Think Online Sports Betting Is ‘Bad For Society’

A study conducted by the American Institute for Boys and Men/Ipsos has revealed that only 3% of Americans are familiar with prediction markets, 3% use them, and 91% believe they are financially risky. The study, conducted online from February 27-March 1, found that 52% of respondents believe online sports betting is bad for society, compared to 38% who believe prediction markets are bad. Since the Supreme Court made legal sports betting a state’s rights issue in 2018, 32 U.S. states and jurisdictions allow online sports Betting and eight allow online casino. However, 59% of those polled believe prediction market should be regulated like sports betting.
