Flood risk trending lower across Red River Basin, NWS says

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued its latest Spring Flood Outlook for the U.S. portion of the Red River Basin, which is expected to be near to below long-term averages for moderate-or-higher flooding in some locations. The outlook suggests that minor flooding is the most likely outcome, with isolated moderate flooding possible. This outlook is based on dry conditions through early March and recent snowfall has added moisture back into the system, which can increase runoff potential during spring melt. The NWS also warns that higher levels of ice may affect the probabilities.
