A gunman in Louisiana killed eight children, including seven of his own, and injured two others in a domestic violence attack. The suspect, identified as Shamar Elkins, was killed after a police pursuit. The attacks occurred in a neighborhood south of downtown Shreveport, where children ranged from 1 to about 12 years old. One of the adults wounded was the mother of the suspect's children. The shootings were not immediately identified as what may have sparked the violence. The victims are in critical condition.
