India’s equity mutual fund inflows rise after 2-month lull on earnings, US trade deal

Inflows for equity mutual fund rose by 8.1% month-on-month to 259.78 billion rupees ($2.82 billion), according to data from the Association of Mutual Funds in India. However, fewer trading sessions resulted in decreased investment plans, with investments in gold exchange-traded funds dropping sharply. Foreign investors purchased shares worth 226.15 billion rupee after three months of outflow. The deal with the U.S. also brought down the tariff on Indian goods to 18% from 50% earlier.
