TLC's new reality series, "Suddenly Amish," about an insular religious community in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, has almost wrapped its eight-episode first season. Despite the conservative reputation of the religious sect, the show stars churchgoing diva named James, who delivers more drama than a whole season of "Real Housewives." The premise of the show is that six English (Amish slang for “non-Amish people) members head to an Amish community to consider joining the lifestyle for various reasons, including that the lifestyle is incompatible with their personalities. Despite these bumps, Bishop Vernon, the patriarch of the community, is eager to invite these people in to see their way of life. James was previously shunned from the community for cell phone use and tasks with Bishop Vernon to be a leader for these curious English. However, James quickly becomes aggressive and becomes obsessed with Kendra, a former dancer who hypnotizes him.
