A video by @tiny.sanctuary shows a fight between two slugs, which appears to be part of an intense mating ritual. Slugs are hermaphrodites, meaning each individual has both male and female reproductive organs. The battle is more akin to an intense courtship that determines how mating will occur. The slugs use "love darts" and a practice called apophallation to compete with each other, which increases their chances of paternity by injecting testosterone. This behavior is not a common occurrence as slugs are typically not "fighting" for territory or food.
