U.S. Space Command (SPACECOM) has moved from Colorado Springs to Huntsville, setting up a new headquarters for its intelligence operations. The facility will be used by the Joint Intelligence Support Element (JISE), which will have 80 personnel in it by the end of the year. The move has been challenged by a lawsuit and criticism about whether it will disrupt the command's combat readiness. SpacECOM plans to have a staff of 1,800 in Huntsville as its permanent headquarters is set to be completed by 2031.
