Norfolk, Va., District Attorney Ramin Fatehi has sparked outrage by blaming the Old Dominion University shooting on pro-gun-rights lawmakers and judges. He claimed that gun-rights supporters in office care more about guns than they care about 6-year-old children. Despite this, Fatehi stood by his statements, insisting they were the "truth" and pointed out that the gunman, Mohamed Bailor Jalloh, was a radical extremist who shouted “Allahu Akbar” when he opened fire. The National Association for Gun Rights criticized the statement, calling it an attempt to disarm the cult of gun absolutism. Two of Fatehi's top donors include the Soros-subsidized Justice and Public Safety PAC and Democracy PAC, which contributed more than $650,000 to his campaign fund between 2021 and 2025.
