Edwardsville to build Goshen Commons, a $4M downtown pedestrian plaza

The City of Edwardsville, Illinois is planning to build a $4 million downtown pedestrian plaza, the Goshen Commons, located on St. Louis Street between North Main and North Second streets. The public plaza will include recreational gathering areas, walkaways, a green space, a large video screen, and many other amenities. Construction is set to begin this spring and the plaza is expected to open by the end of the year. The city has secured a $2 million grant from the Illinois Department of Nature Resources and additional costs will be covered by the Edwardsville Enhancement Fund.
