The film, directed and produced by Siyi Chen, explores a ballroom where Asian American seniors dance, socialize, and preserve their culture left behind in the U.S. The filmmakers spent significant time at the ballroom to identify potential participants for a documentary. They settled on three protagonists: Mary, Aaron, Jimmy, and Mary. The ballroom is also a world of gossip mill, with rumors suggesting that the participants may have made up their stories.
