Veterans in Bakersfield, California, were given 15-minute flights by Dream Flights, an organization that provides free flights for veterans. Among the veterans participating was a 102-year-old World War II veteran who served in the European Theater in Germany. The pilot, Kurt Bohlken, said the flights can be transformative for older veterans, who often come back feeling 25 years old again. The organization has provided over 8,000 flights to veterans and has encouraged veterans to apply for future flights.
