The trial of six defendants, including the hotel owner, a receptionist, and staff from a pest control company, has begun following the deaths of a four-member family from Hamburg who were poisoned at a hotel in Istanbul in November. The incident left both parents and their two young children critically ill shortly after arriving in the city. The suspects face sentences ranging from two years and eight months to up to 22 years and five months in jail. The indictment alleges that the pest control firm lacked proper authorization and failed to take safety measures.
