New Hampshire man, Peter Mancini, has been arrested for filing for unemployment while incarcerated, according to the state's Attorney General and Department of Employment Security Commissioner Richard Lavers. Prosecutors allege that between October 2025 and February 2026, Mancino submitted false unemployment claims to the New Hampshire Department of Employer Security, falsely stating that an employment offer was rescinded due to no fault of his own. As a result, he allegedly received more than $11,000 in unemployment compensation. Each class A felony offense is punishable by up to 15 years in state prison or a fine.
