A former Valencia County first responder, Robert R.M. is facing multiple child rape charges. The charges stem from a child who reported the sexual abuse to an adult and later went to the hospital for treatment. Michelle Aldana, the statewide director of forensic services, has urged families to maintain communication so children can feel safe reporting abuse. She also highlighted the need for children to be taught about body safety and appropriate names for their body parts. The reminder comes as Child Abuse Prevention Day.
