Classes at Portland Community College are set to resume next Monday after a three-week strike ended. The agreement involves a 2% cost of living adjustment for the current year and a 3% increase for the 2026-2027 school year. Spring term classes will be delayed by one week and the semester will be run on a condensed 10-week schedule. The strike was unusual as it was the first-ever strike at a community college in Oregon and was in the middle of an active contract, focusing solely on wages and benefits. The union, which represents about 700 people, agreed to a 5% cost-of-living adjustment for 2026.
